Motty's 0-3 West Ham
02/06/2009 17:04Match Report by Isaac Johnson at OFM Dome
OFM FC fell to an embarrassing home defeat to West Ham after two goals from Carlton Cole helped The Irons destroy The Motty's 0-3.
Both of Cole's goals came in the second half, that was before Di Michele fired West Ham in front right on Half Time in Controversial circumstances.
A brilliant defensive first half display from The Hammers saw the Eastern London side shut out any hope of OFM FC grabbing an early goal, with Matt Upson and James Tomkins playing immensely at the back.
It took a while for the first chance with defence on top, but West Ham got the first opportunity after 34 Minutes when Noble split open the defence with a cracking through ball, only to see Di Michele blaze the effort over the bar.
But the goal came controversially at the end of the First Half, very deep into Injury Time. The fourth official only signalled for Two additional minutes, but into the Third added minute Neill whipped in a cross from the right for Di Michele to blast home, a goal that was almost identical to Kenwyne Jones' goal against The Motty's on Sunday.
With his team behind at the break, temporary coach Holmes decided to switch from 4-1-2-1-2 to a more attacking formation of 4-3-3, with Thorrington taking place alongside Hansen and Ademi up front.
OFM FC's only chance of the match came Twelve into the Second Period, Jordan Westhead finding time to shoot from a long way out, only to see his shot fly high and wide.
And after failing to create more chances, West Ham punished The Motty's with Ten Minutes left.
Cole gleefully skipped away from Wally Jones and Tom Donlan before firing low past Mundell for 0-2.
The lead was doubled in Injury Time, but before that The Motty's needed another offensive change as Pimenta came on for Murphy, and Jovanovic pushed onto the wing, pushing Wilson into the middle with Pimenta in a 3-4-3 Formation.
Although the outcome was worse than expected, as Cole dribbled round Walker to fire in for his second and to complete a dreadful day all round for the home side.
